Healthy Components of Mushrooms | Medicinal benefits of mushrooms | mushroom blog | biobritte

There are various chemical compounds found in mushrooms that reportedly have medicinal uses and benefits.

About 651 species representing 185 genera of mushrooms are reported to contain anti-tumour or immuno-stimulating polysaccarides that inhibit tumorigenesis.

There is evidence that the β-D-glycans induce a biological response by binding to membrane complement receptor on immune effector cells.

The lipid component of Agaricus was found to contain a compound with anti-tumour activity which was later identified as ergosterol.

Similarly the lipid fraction of Grifola exhibits antioxidant activity and inhibits enzymes that cause many chronic diseases including cancer.

The mushroom constituents not only inhibit progression of the disease by exerting direct cytotoxicity against tumour cells but also up regulate other non-immune suppressing mechanisms.

These constituents are beneficial even in some established tumours and isolates from mushroom cells have cytostatic compounds that induce apoptosis in leukamia cells.

The chemicals produced by species of Ganoderma have antibacterial properties and have been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as Staphylococcus.

Steroids isolated from them are active against numerous gram negative and gram positive microorganisms.

The mycelial extracts from Lentinula produce antiprotozoal activities against Paramecium.

Mushrooms also have antiviral properties and several compounds isolated from Ganoderma are active against H1V-1  and are also known to possess antiviral activity against influenza virus type 1.

Although mushroom has numerous medicinal uses, some of the attributes of them are listed here:

Lentinula edodes-Shittake Mushrooms

The shiitake (/ʃɪˈtɑːkeɪ, ˌʃiːɪ-, -ki/;[1] Japanese: [ɕiːtake] (About this soundlisten) Lentinula edodes) is an edible mushroom native to East Asia, which is cultivated and consumed in many Asian countries.  It is considered a medicinal mushroom in some forms of traditional medicine. Shiitake grow in groups on the decaying wood of deciduous trees, particularly shii, chestnut, oak, maple, beech, sweetgum, poplar, hornbeam, ironwood, mulberry, and chinquapin.  Its natural distribution includes warm and moist climates in southeast Asia. In a 100 gram amount, raw shiitake mushrooms provide 34 calories and are 90% water, 7% carbohydrates, 2% protein and less than 1% fat (table for raw mushrooms). Raw shiitake mushrooms are rich sources (20% or more of the Daily Value, DV) of B vitamins and contain moderate levels of some dietary minerals (table).  When dried to about 10% water, the contents of numerous nutrients increase substantially. Like all mushrooms, shiitakes produce vit...

dried mushrooms: Health Benefits

Dried mushrooms are more concentrated in flavor and nutrients than their fresh counterparts.  One ounce of dried shiitake mushrooms provides 84 calories, 3 grams of protein, less than 1/2 gram of fat and 21 grams of carbohydrates, of which over 3 grams are dietary fiber. This serving also packs 28 percent, 25 percent, 16 percent and 12 percent of the daily values for riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6 and folate. buy from here Mushrooms grow in many parts of the United States, and while it might be tempting to pick them at the local park or from your own backyard, it’s best to buy your mushrooms from the market. Certain wild, highly toxic mushrooms closely resemble edible varieties. When eaten, they can cause serious illness or death. --------------------------------------------------- # Mushroom  Learning Center Kolhapur # Phone : 9923806933, 9673510343 https://www.facebook.com/biobritte.agro Mushroom spawn, mushrooms , mushroom product available --------------------------------...

Growing your own mushrooms at home

✔ Growing your own mushrooms at home is easy if you purchase a complete kit or just spawn and then inoculate your own substrate. ✔ However you start them, the question of when to harvest the mushrooms will inevitably come to pass. ✔ Oyster mushroom harvesting should occur 3-5 days after you see the first mushrooms begin to form. ✔ You are looking for the cap of the largest mushroom in the group to go from turning down at the edges to turning up or flattening out at the edges. ✔ Register here for mushroom training event- 26 may 2019: https://imjo.in/F3nHkb 🏭 For Mushroom Cultivation Training, mushroom Spawn Contact- Mushroom Learning Center, jaysingpur-Kolhapur phone: 9923806933, 9673510343 # mushrooms   # spawn   # mushroom  seeds  # sangli   # kolhapur   # maharashtra # mushroomtraining  #mushroom farming #mushroom business  # fresh mushrooms  # dry  mushrooms  # paddy  straw mushrooms
